The Gila Bend Auxiliary Field Runway functions as an emergency landing option for military aircraft. The project scope included construction of a new 1,000-LF concrete touchdown area at both runway ends, mill, and overlay for the remaining asphalt pavement, and construct asphalt shoulders along the new runway pavement. The total runway is 8,500 LF. Aircraft arresting gears are installed at both runway ends.

Yuma Runway Repair Marine Corp Air Station

Huitt-Zollars provided design services to reconstruct 5,800 LF of runway and overlay 1,000 LF of existing runway pavement. The project also included runway shoulder overlays, and adjustments to all taxiway lights, handhole frames, and covers. Full depth asphalt construction was employed for runway reconstruction.
