Webster Fire Station

Huitt-Zollars provided full-service architectural and engineering design services for the design/build of the City’s new fire station. The proximity to Galveston Bay required the capability to withstand 165 mph wind loads, 3-second gusts, and laminate windows that do not require hurricane-boarding.  Huitt-Zollars scope of work included survey, architectural and landscape architecture designs, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing designs. Site work included a 2.2 acre development, surface parking, driveways, and six apparatus bays. The first floor houses training facilities, fire trucks, generator, equipment, and offices for fire officials. The second floor contains dorm rooms, restrooms, a kitchen and exercise area.
