Mountain Peak Community Park | Midlothian, Texas
Client: City of Midlothian
Huitt-Zollars was selected to work with the City and a local subdivision to develop a new ten-acre park. A phasing strategy was co-created by the City and Huitt-Zollars to manage funding for the improvements. Phase 1 included two playground areas (one for preschoolers and one for 5- to 12-year-old children), a pavilion with restrooms, softball and baseball fields that include backstops, a junior-size soccer field, jogging trail encircling the site, and parking lot to accommodate ten vehicles. Subsequent phases include additional playground equipment, enlarging the parking lot to support an increase in athletic field activity, a wildflower meadow, and the expansion of concrete trails.
