We are pleased to announce that Guillermo Salcedo, P.E. CFM., has joined Huitt-Zollars as an Associate and Senior Project Engineer in our Houston West office where he will focus primarily on project execution, business development, and client management for our public works practice in Southeast Texas. Guillermo brings to the firm over 20 years of experience in management, design, and construction of roadways, storm sewer systems, water distribution systems, sanitary sewer systems, and other municipal engineering projects. Guillermo earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Houston, and he is a certified floodplain manager and licensed engineer in the state of Texas.
Prior to joining Huitt-Zollars, Guillermo served as Senior Engineering Manager for the City of Sugar Land, Texas, where he managed several capital improvement projects and represented the engineering department as part of the Development Review Committee (DRC), which oversees future construction projects within the city limits. He was also instrumental in creating a Quality Control group responsible for reviewing all proposed projects. Before joining the municipality, Guillermo served as Project Manager and Project Engineer on several projects within Houston and the surrounding area, including the installation of new electrical duct banks under the proposed US 290 expansion project and Grand Parkway (SH 99), and a number of roadway reconstruction, paving, drainage, and sewer projects. Fun fact: His first job after college was also with Huitt-Zollars as a Graduate Civil Engineer in our Land Development practice.
