Waco Transit Maintenance Facility

The previous Waco Transit Maintenance Facility was significantly undersized and did not meet the needs of a modern transit operation. Huitt-Zollars was responsible for all conventional building and site design, including fueling and distribution of maintenance fluids. Huitt-Zollars participated in the bidding and contractor solicitations and review and was involved during the construction process. The project was subject to Federal Transit Administration (FTA) oversize regulations. As a result the team held a Peer Review, which included the FTA, four regional transit authorities, and the Waco Transit staff. The Peer Review provided valuable input for the final design and future operation of the facility.
