Grundfos North Americas HQ Office Building

Ramboll A/S in Denmark was selected by Grundfos, a Denmark-based global water technology manufacturer, as Program Manager for a new 45,000-square-foot Americas Regional Center in Brookshire, Texas. The new facility would house Grundfos sales, operations, engineering, HR, finance, and other support functions. Grundfos’ in-house architect in Denmark designed the new building; therefore, Ramboll needed to find a firm capable of interpreting and redrawing the plans, originally done to European standards, to US standards for procurement by a separate Design/Build team. 

Huitt-Zollars was ultimately selected as the Design A/E to provide tender/bridging documents because of the firm’s capabilities to offer all services in-house to interpret the drawing including civil, structural, MEP, and interiors. Ultimately, HZ’s role at this stage was to ensure the design was interpreted according to the intent of the Owner. Key members of the Design/Build team were Harvey Builders (GC), PGAL (Architect), and WGA (Engineers). GreeNexus was also commissioned by the Owner to assist with LEED requirements, as one of the core design factors was sustainability and to achieve LEED Platinum certification. Huitt-Zollars was later selected by Ramboll to provide construction management services along with construction phase A/E observations.
