North Operations and Maintenance Facility

Huitt-Zollars served as Prime Consultant and Project Manager for coordination of all building and site programming and design. Huitt-Zollars also served as Engineer-of-Record for structural, mechanical, plumbing/piping, fire protection and electrical engineering. The new North Operations and Maintenance Facility has a footprint of 55,650 SF with a second level accounting for an additional 25,000 SF for operator-related functions and includes repair bays, maintenance offices, restroom/locker/showers, lunch room, brake shop, common work area, and a parts storeroom.

METRO Bus Rapid Transit Stations

Huitt-Zollars provided architectural, civil engineering, structural engineering, electrical engineering design and surveying services for signature bus service along Bellaire Boulevard. Huitt-Zollars also prepared the conceptual design and final construction documents for the project. Collaborating with Houston METRO’s staff, the scope of work included the conceptual and final design of 14 signature bus shelters, porcelain tile pavers, logo, banners, lighting, lane markings, selective demolition, and signage for METRO’s “Quickline” Bus Rapid Transit service. Bellaire Boulevard is a signific

Anniston Small Arms Facility

Huitt-Zollars was responsible for project management and development of the architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing portions of the design of the building renovation and addition. This project provides for the design of a facility to be used for the overhaul, repair and refurbishment of multiple types of DoD and U.S. Coast Guard weapons (small arms).

Big League Dreams Sports Park

Huitt-Zollars prepared the civil, structural and electrical engineering design for the new 40-acre Big League Dreams Sports Park in League City. The Park consists of six scaled-down replicas of famous Major League Baseball fields with dugouts, walls, and stadium lighting. The fields include the old Yankee Stadium, Fenway Park, Wrigley Field, Crosley Field, Sportsman’s Field, and Ebbets Field and are designed to accommodate a wide variety of participants from youth to adult athletes.

Maneuver Systems Sustainment Center

The Maneuver Systems Sustainment Center (MSSC) is a $70 million new facility that achieves consolidation of multiple functions into a single 377,000-square-foot, seven-building facility on approximately 15 acres of site development. In addition to the design of the building and site, Huitt-Zollars was responsible for programming, layout, and design of approximately $20 million of highly specialized process-related equipment.
