We are pleased to announce Aaron Barta, PMP has joined Huitt-Zollars as a Vice President in our Federal practice area in the Fort Worth office. In this role, Aaron will focus on long range strategy for our growing national Federal practice, including market research, program forecasting, and agency outreach.
As an engineering management executive, Aaron comes to Huitt-Zollars as a strategic and result-driven leader with a record of managing multimillion-dollar budgets and capital assets as well as overseeing all logistical components of project development. Aaron retired as a Colonel finishing his military career as the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Los Angeles District Commander where he oversaw all aspects of USACE responsibilities for 10% of the US population. He previously served with US Military’s European Command Headquarters as the Deputy Chief for Logistics Strategy and Deputy Chief for Engineering. He also oversaw creation and implementation of the U.S. European Command’s logistics by aligning the central branches of Engineering, Contracting, and Medical functions. Other notable assignments include multiple combat tours in Afghanistan; construction program manager for the Department of State and USACE in Iraq; and commander of the Army’s search and rescue operations at the Pentagon on 9/11.
Aaron received his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from the United States Military Academy and a Master of Arts in Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College as well as a Master of Science in Engineering Management from Southern Methodist University. Aaron is a Project Management Professional and is also an active member of the Society of Military Engineers (SAME) Fort Worth Chapter serving as VP for Membership.
