On February 21, 2018, the Texas Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE) honored Roxanne Pillar, P.E., Director for Quality at Huitt-Zollars, as a Fellow of the TSPE Texas Engineering Foundation (TEF) at their 2018 Engineers Week Annual Awards Luncheon. This program recognizes and honors leaders in the community who have worked to enhance the practice of engineering by encouraging continued professional development and providing scholarship assistance to engineering students. This an extremely high honor and we are very proud of Roxanne!
More about Roxanne Pillar –
Roxanne joined Huitt-Zollars in 2004 as a Vice President and Office Manager in Fort Worth. In her current role as Director for Quality, she focuses on implementing the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from South Dakota State University.
Roxanne has been extremely active in the engineering community for a number of years. Currently, she is an active member of the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE); the American Society of Quality (ASQ) Fort Worth Section; the Fort Worth Chamber Transportation Committee, and chair of the Fort Worth Downtown Inc. Transportation Committee. She is also a member of Chi Epsilon and the UTA Civil Engineering Advisory Committee, and she continues to make ethics presentations and participate in Order of the Engineer.
Her involvement in the Texas Society for Professional Engineers (TSPE) began in 1979 as the Fort Worth Chapter newsletter editor, and she was Texas state president from 2000-2001. Roxanne has also been recognized as both the Chapter’s Young Engineer and Engineer of the Year. Additionally, she is past president of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Fort Worth Branch and the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Fort Worth Post. In 1992, she was appointed to the Texas Board of Professional Engineers (TBPE) and served a six-year term. She was selected as chairperson in 1995. Today, she continues to be active on the TBPE Industry Advisory Committee.
Throughout her career, Roxanne has worked on numerous engineering projects in Texas including the rehabilitation of Morris Sheppard Dam; construction of the Richland-Chambers Dam, the Austin Bergstrom Airport Traffic Tower, and the Bedford Water Tower. She organized and prepared the initial LEED documents for the Fort Bliss Expansion and was the Terminal B&E Design Manager for the DFW International Airport Skylink.
