Houston Methodist Hospital - Main 200 Cardiac MRI Suite Renovation

The Huitt-Zollars team was selected to provide a fast track and collaborative design to renovate the existing Main 200 Cardiac MR Suite. The goal of the project was to provide an efficient and collaborative solution to remove existing non-operational MRI equipment and replace the existing operational MRI equipment. The scope of the project was to renovate the existing 3,500 SF Imaging Suite to provide a functional MRI Suite with a new 1.5 Tesla MRI, Reading Room, Patient Waiting, Patient Holding, and the required Staff and Patient support spaces. The project also included the renovation of finishes, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, security, IT/Low Voltage, and furniture systems. The removal and installation of the MRIs included exterior, waterproofing, and site work. New building infrastructure work was also included to accommodate the new UPS, chilled water, magnet transport, exhaust fans, and MRI quench vent.
