Victory at Verrado

Victory, located in Buckeye, Arizona, lies at the base of the White Tanks Mountains. It is the Active Adult component of the Verrado Master Planned Community which encompasses an area of approximately 1,200 acres and is comprised of a 30,000-square-foot Community Center, 18-hole golf course, and residential development that ranges from high to low density. Victory is planned around the “active” adult, specifically an extensive path/trail system. This is in addition to the golf course, numerous sport courts, and mountain hiking trails.

Eastmark Master Planned Community

Named as one of the “Best Places to Live in Arizona” by Arizona Foothills Magazine, DMB along with Huitt-Zollars and its partners created a City within a City. Situated on 3,200 acres in Mesa, the Eastmark Master Planned Community is on the way to becoming one of the most thoughtfully planned, innovative communities in the country. Civic areas such as parks, schools, and businesses are being weaved into the fabric of the community, uniting its residents and visitors. The Eastmark project included 4.5 miles of infrastructure for close to 750 lots and a 10-acre park in the first phase.

San Tan West Area Drainage Masterplan

The San Tan West ADMP covers a watershed area in excess of 45.8 square miles. The watershed's character varied between the undeveloped steep mountainous areas in the upper reaches and sparsely and densely developed areas within the lower regions. This ADMP included a complex FLO-2D model creation in areas where man-made disturbances have introduced channel systems, drainage structures, and retention systems. The large area included multiple municipalities where stakeholder and public involvement were critical for the project's success. 

Bell94 Sports Complex

Planning, design, and construction administration services were provided for a six-field sports complex at 94th St. and Bell Rd. The complex includes 6 lighted professional quality sand-based fields; 600 space parking lot; restroom, office, and maintenance building facilities, shaded plaza, multi-use path, walkways, box culvert wash crossings, roadway extension, new turn lanes, and landscaping. Landscaping included over 200 salvaged trees and cacti.

Gila Bend Auxiliary Field Runway

The Gila Bend Auxiliary Airfield is located near the Goldwater Bombing Range south of Gila Bend Arizona, and is an auxiliary field for military aircraft that may be experiencing an emergency. Huitt-Zollars was part of a Design/Build team, and designed the new runway. The project scope included constructing a new 1,000-foot-long concrete touchdown areas at each end of the existing 8,500-foot runway, mill and overlay the remaining asphalt pavement and construct asphalt shoulders along the new runway pavement.

Goodwin Street Improvement

The Goodwin Street Improvement Project extends approximately 3,800 linear feet through the heart of downtown Prescott. The purpose was to reduce the flood potential along historic Whiskey Row, replace aged sewer and water lines, improve parking, increase pedestrian safety, and enhance sidewalks and crosswalks. The streetscape will also be enhanced.

Prescott Pavement Rehabilitation

Through the City of Prescott’s On-Call, Hoskin Ryan provided plan preparation services for pavement rehabilitation to 25 roadways throughout the City of Prescott. 17,737-linear-feet of various pavement management strategies were completed. The roadways received surface treatments such as mill and overlay, removal and reconstruction, crack seal, micro seal, chip seal, slurry, and pavement rejuvenator applications.

Hangar 109 Repair

Huitt-Zollars provided architectural, civil, structural, and MEP design services for the renovation of an existing active squadron hangar at MCAS, to transition it to a facility for temporary housing for visiting squadrons, and as temporary quarters for local units while their hangars are being renovated. The project consists of design of repairs to electrical and HVAC system components, the modification of fire sprinkler system to new spaces, and reconstruction of toilet rooms.

40th Street/Pecos Road Park and Ride

Huitt-Zollars provided professional design services to construct a $2.5 million end-of-line park and ride facility on the northwest corner of 40th Street and Pecos Road. The work included project design, construction documents, permitting, and estimates of probable construction cost for civil, drainage, landscape, utility, and transit center improvements. The facility will encompass approximately 15 acres, with initial design for 500 parking spaces, and rough grading and utilities for a total of 1,000 spaces.
