We are pleased to announce that Wendy Amann, PE, F.SAME and a Vice President at Huitt-Zollars has been named as our Vice President, Quality. In her new role, Wendy will be responsible for the oversight and administration of Huitt-Zollars’ Quality Management System (QMS), creating and maintaining a quality culture throughout the entire firm. In addition, she will develop and lead the business strategic quality plan in collaboration with senior leadership.
Wendy began her career with Huitt-Zollars as a structural engineer in the Denver office in 2010. In 2016, she was promoted to a Vice President and Managing Principal of the Denver office where she has managed day-to-day office operations and expanded business in the region through business development and client relations efforts. Wendy was also the Quality Manager on several projects, providing quality assurance as well as quality reviews as needed. She attended internal auditor training and conducted office audits of HZ Quality processes over the last couple of years. She had also managed our office Wellness checks, which are a follow up to the Quality Audits, that assist the office in measuring progress for continual improvement.
Since joining the firm, she has served as a project manager on numerous projects for developers, special districts, municipalities, and private clients. In addition to this vast project experience, Wendy is actively engaged with the professional community. She is involved in the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Denver Metro Post and was selected as a member of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Fellows Class of 2023. Wendy is also involved in the National Council of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors (NCEES) and the American Council of Engineering Companies of Colorado (ACEC Colorado). In 2016, Wendy was appointed by the Governor to the Colorado State Board of Licensure for Architects, Professional Engineers, and Land Surveyors.
