Huitt-Zollars is excited to announce the recent hire of Don Young, PE, who has joined the company as a Vice President. In this role, he will focus on business development initiatives in the Federal sector as well as program management for large scale design/build federal projects.
Don comes to Huitt-Zollars with more than 38 years of experience in business development and client management, along with program and project management for multi-discipline projects. While he has served clients in both the private and public sectors, his primary focus has been with federal A/E design and Design-Build contracts. Don has had success in securing contracts with a number of agencies including the US Army Corps of Engineers, Department of Homeland Security, National Park Service, Environmental Protection Agency, and the U.S. Postal Service. He has served as project and program manager for several projects at Fort Sam Houston, Fort Hood, and Fort Carson as well as Kirtland, Nellis, and Kelly air force bases, to name a few.
Don obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and he is a licensed engineer in Texas and Missouri.
