Walsh Development

Walsh is a 7,200-acre, mixed-use master planned community that spans Tarrant and Parker counties within the city of Fort Worth, Texas. The first phase of the community, Quail Valley, is 1,700 acres and will consist of nearly 3,000 single-family residential lots, including a large amenity complex and three elementary schools. The development is expected to eventually be home to nearly 50,000 residents. As the Development Engineer, Huitt-Zollars was responsible for all aspects of engineering to make Quail Valley a reality.

8th Avenue Mixed-Use Development

Huitt-Zollars completed the 8th Avenue Mixed-Use Development in Fort Worth, Texas. Huitt-Zollars provided architectural, civil, landscape, mechanical, and electrical services to design the redevelopment of multiple contiguous sites as multi-use area. This mixed-use office and retail building provides a striking presence along 8th avenue, tying the medical district into the Magnolia Street area of the Near Southside.

1111 Pennsylvania Avenue MOB

The 1111 Pennsylvania Ave project is a medical office building in the heart of the Fort Worth Medical District in Fort Worth, Texas. Stacked as two stories of medical offices on top of two stories of parking spaces, and a first floor for retail and additional office space, this distinctive building will replace an aging single-story one. Offering over 63,000 square-feet and 112 parking spaces this building will change the streetscape of Pennsylvania Ave for the better. Huitt-Zollars provided full architectural, engineering, and construction administration services for this project.

TEXRail Mahaffey Maintenance Facility

The TEXRail project is a 27.2-mile commuter rail system that will run between downtown Fort Worth and the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, and will be operated by the Fort Worth Transportation Authority. Huitt-Zollars is the Project Manager and Engineer-of-Record providing design and construction support services for the 48,000-square-foot vehicle Equipment Maintenance Facility (EMF). The EMF is located on a 22-acre site and will service, maintain, fuel, and store the eight Stadler Flirt Diesel Motorized Units (DMUs) that will operate on this line.

Maneuver Systems Sustainment Center - Red River Army Depot

Huitt-Zollars served as prime design firm, with management responsibilities plus technical responsibilities for architecture, structure, mechanical (including HVAC and piping/plumbing) and electrical engineering. The new facility consolidates multiple functions into a single 377,000-SF seven-building facility on approximately 15 acres of site development. In addition to building and site design, Huitt-Zollars was responsible for programming, layout, and design of approximately $20 million of highly specialized process-related equipment.
