We are pleased to announce Guillermo Cabrera, AIA has joined Huitt-Zollars as a Vice President in our Houston West office. Guillermo’s role will include continuing to expand and enhance Huitt-Zollars’ capabilities in our public works practice throughout Texas.
Guillermo brings a wealth of experience to our team. Prior to joining Huitt-Zollars, he served as Chief Architect, and later as the Assistant Director for the Houston Airport System (HAS) Infrastructure Department in Houston, where he played a pivotal role in overseeing and managing all design efforts for projects at Houston's three airports since 2015. Guillermo was instrumental in developing the Houston Airport Design Standards and contributed to obtaining impressive ratings for George Bush Intercontinental and William P Hobby Airports. His notable projects include the construction of the HAS Infrastructure Division Operations Building, two (2) Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) stations, and a new maintenance facility. Before working for HAS, Guillermo served as the Project Manager and Lead Architect for numerous projects for various municipalities and educational institutions throughout southeast Texas and in Florida.
Guillermo received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Notre Dame. He is a registered Architect in the states of Texas and Florida and is a member of the American Institute of Architects. Guillermo is also a member of the Notre Dame Club of Houston.
